14th April 2016 – Annual General Meeting

Another year and  a successful one. Membership slightly down, nothing drastic, accounts in a slightly better condition, small surplus. Competitions going from strength to strength and we even managed to win an interclub battle! All this does not happen by itself. It is organised and worked for and so club thanks must go to the committee and the other members who have made things happen, because most of their work goes on unseen. In fact the only time that it gets recognised is when something doesn’t go smoothly – and that isn’t very often. The club, any club, is only as strong as its members and since it’s foundation in 1979 Reflex certainly has had its ups and downs. At the moment it is on the up and long may it remain so. The minutes below are courtesy of Ruth, as Club Secretary, and thanks to her for that vital but often unseen work. Reports referred to are available from the club for members who have use of them.

Minutes to the Reflex Camera Club AGM

7th April 2016.

Maurice Thompson ( Chair ) welcomed all members and accepted apologies from John Pike and Wendy Goodchild.

Treasurers Report ( attached )
MARK O’GRADY (competition Secretary ) reported that the number of DPI entries this year had been consistent with last year but print numbers were down.
Issues with drop box had caused problems throughout the year and this will now be replaced with the new Photo Entry system . All members are now signed up to this and several have already used it and are finding it a much better system.
Judges this year have on the whole been very good.

CHRIS HARVEY ( Media Secretary ) reported that April – April visits to the club web site have increased 50%. The site has recently been updated and is still top of the Google search list.

A.O.B Members were asked for feedback on the new amendments to the club constitution . All found it acceptable except member J. K. who felt we should include a Child Protection clause. As we never have children attending without a parent or guardian it had been felt that this was not necessary but would be looked into and advice sought . Excluding this clause , the constitution amendments were passed.
